Etimologia

Il nome del genere è stato coniato dalle parole mwiagreche mwiqiso (mwig«identica») e mwiwphysis (mwja«natura»).cite-ref-goldblatt2008-3-0[3]

Descrizione

Le mwkwfoglie sono di tipo erboso; i mwlafiori stellati, di colore mwlqrosso scuro-mwlgviola o mwlwgiallo, con i mwmatepali rovesciati. Caratteristico di mwmqI. tasmanica è l'mwmgovario supero che la distingue da tutte le altre specie di Iridaceae.

Distribuzione e habitat

È una specie mwnwendemica delle regioni montuose della mwoaTasmania.cite-ref-powo-1-1[1]

Predilige mwpgterreni assolati e sabbiosi.
